Edie Falco Showtime Series Gets Tentative Title

According to Variety, Showtime announced during its Friday TCA session that its Edie Falco series now has the tentative title of Nurse Jackie. No word on the show's content, other than that it will be a "dark comedy". IMDB characterizes the series as the story of a nurse who "struggles to find a balance between the demands of her frenetic job at a New York City hospital and an array of personal dramas." The pilot was written by Liz Brixius (who wrote the 2007 TV pilot Insatiable), and Evan Dunsky (who's written for Two and a Half Men and CSI).

Other actors appearing in the pilot include Paul Schulze, Haaz Slieman, and Danai Jekesai Gurira.

Falco last starred as Tony Sopranos' wife on the HBO series, The Sopranos.
